Our first Outside Speaker.

This Wednesday our club welcomed two new members, Tina and Emily, I am really pleased to welcome them to the club.
We were also visited by a lady called Betty Swallow , our first outside speaker. Betty has belonged to a craft group similar to ours for many years and was able to tell us a little about how they organise themselves, from what she described and from my own observations of how we are all enjoying ourselves it would seem that our own club is heading along a very positive and creative path. Betty also brought samples of handstitched patchwork, cards and other crafts such as a padded and material covered box to show us. Betty talked about how she got ideas for cards even from the most mundane everyday items such as a cereal box and offered everyone the opportunity to make one of her cards.

I would like to thank Stella and Marie for helping make the tea and coffee and also thanks to everyone who helped tidy up, wash up etc it is much more fun when we all muck in.

Please remember that for the next two weeks we are back in the Room owned by C&G Partnership in Mill Lane. Next week we will have a go at making ourselves name badges and I'll see if I can find another punch project for us to do.
